Tiger Hunters Tours & Safaris — Lake Jozini South Africa
Trip Guide

What To Expect
On The Water.

A first-time honest walkthrough of a guided Lake Jozini tiger fishing trip — hour by hour.

Every trip is different — but the rhythm is consistent. Arrive, brief, launch, fish, release, return. Here's how a typical day unfolds.

Arrival & Briefing

You'll meet your guide at the launch point 30 minutes before departure. Quick safety briefing, gear walk-through, bait set-up, and we're on the water.

First Cast

The boat heads to the day's best zone based on wind, sun and recent activity. First casts go in within 20 minutes of leaving the launch.

The Fight

When a tigerfish hits, the rod buckles, the reel screams, and the fish often goes airborne. Your guide will coach you through the fight — keep the rod high, let the drag work, don't horse it.

Photo & Release

Fish in the water for the photo, hands wet, no jaw grip. Released gently against the current. You're back fishing within 60 seconds.

Return & Stories

Back at the launch, gear is rinsed, photos shared, and most guests are already asking about the next trip.
